The exam is done.  This is what you need to know:  35 fill in the blanks and 20 true or false for a total of 55 marks.  There are 15 problems that total to 55 marks.  The exam will be marked out of 110.

Chemistry 621

First draft of the exam is done.  You are looking at 35 blanks, 25 true false and 15 problems.  The blanks are mainly defintions but there are some small fgure it out problems, all worth just 1 mark.  The problems range from 1 question per number to multi – a, b, c part questions.  I am now looking at having the exam a 50-50 split between theory and problems.

Went over last night’s homework.  Passed out a Chapter 18 review sheet.  Started the exam review.  Assignments due tomorrow.

Four of the 5 groups presented their slideshows.  Final slideshow presentation tomorrow. Final reports also due tomorrow.  Final robot competition on Monday January 30 at 12:30. do not be late!!!!

I collected the assignments.  We went over Section 8-4 #s 1-3.  The students continued working on the chapter 8 Review on Pages 372-373 #s 2-5, 8-14, 16, 17, 19, 21-25, 27-29 (a & b).  Some finished this and started the review sheet.  Homework is to finish the review sheet for Monday’s class.  Test on Chapter 8 on Tuesday.

The final projects are coming along nicely.  Two groups are well into the slideshows as well.

I returned the assignments.  I went over the calculations for the lab and the lab report (1 per group) is due on Wednesday.  I passed out a review sheet for Chapter 15 that is to be done for Monday.  Test on the second part of Chapter 15 on Tuesday.  We started Electrochemistry notes today as well.

Today we went over the answers to Section 8-3 Review #s 1-5 on Page 362.  We covered notes on Section 8-4 on angle of relection, refraction and diffraction.  I assigned Section 8-4 #s 1-3 and the Chapter 8 Review #s 2-5, 8-14, 16, and 17 on Pages 373-373 to be worked on in class.  Assignment is due tomorrow.

We completed the titration lab today.  All went very well with some really nice results of light pink.

I began by demonstrating a titration.  We finished the buffer example.  Revisited the problems on Page 617-618 #s 2, 3, 5, and 6.  I added #s 7, 9, and 11.  Assignment is due tomorrow.  Students do the titration lab tomorrow.
