We covered notes on the conservation of momentum. I did the model problem from Page 313 and students then worked on #s 25 and 26 on Page 315. A note on recoil and another model problem and students are to do #s 27-29 on Page 317 for homework. Assignment due on Thursday December 15, 2011. Test on Monday December 19, 2011.
Robotics
We had our tank challenge today. The class started modifications to enable the tanks to climb better.

Today I returned the Chapter 6 tests and went over the answers. The class conducted a lab to determine their power. These are due on Tuesday Dec. 13. Continuing with Chapter 7 work tomorrow.

I went over last night’s homework and did 2 problems on the board. I assigned the Chapter 14 review on Pages 579-581 #s 2-14 (omit #9) to be finshed for homework.
Robotics
We worked on the Unit 7 and 8 Think Phase as it was too wet to run the robots outside today.

We went over last night’s homework. I did #19 from Page 569 on the board. We covered antilogs and I did 2 sample problems and assigned #s 20-25 on Page 572. We continued with notes on dilutions and I did another sample problem and assigned problems #s 26-29 on Page 574. All problems listed are to be completed for tomorrows class.

Today the class wrote a test on Chapter 6 on Energy. Tonight read Section 7-1 pages 278-289 and 296-299.
Chemistry 621
We started pH today. We defined pH and the equilibtium constant for pure water. I did the sample problem on Page 566 and students then worked on Practice Problems #s 12-15 on Page 566. We continued with the meaning of the pH scale and how to convert concentrations of hydronium ions to pH. I did the sample problem on Page 569 and assigned Practice Problems #s 16-19 on Page 569 to be started in class and finished for homework.
Robotics
Having trouble with the tractors and trying different modifications to help get them going. We should be ready for our first tractor pull tomorrow.
